The Tamil Nadu Zero Emission Freight (TN ZEF) Initiative is a collaborative platform led by the TN EV Taskforce and RMI to accelerate the deployment of Zero Emission Trucks (ZETs) in the state, aiming to position Tamil Nadu as a leader in green logistics.
TN ZEF initiative is a multi-stakeholder platform that will drive decarbonisation through pilot projects, infrastructure development, and scaling innovative ZET solutions, positioning Tamil Nadu as a leader in green logistics.
The launch workshop witnessed exemplary success, with diverse stakeholders exploring the challenges and opportunities that shape this landscape.
Key highlights:
- Dr Atul Anand, IAS (Additional Chief Secretary, MSME Department, Tamil Nadu), engaged in an emphatic dialogue with the participants, collaboratively mapping strategies to accelerate zero emission truck (ZET) adoption.
- Shri Thiru Srinivasan and Shri AJITHKUMAR T K set the tone and shared their ambition for Tamil Nadu and vision for the Initiative.
- The workshop included representation from the Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency, the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Guidance Tamil Nadu, StartupTN, and several leading players from the EV industry.
- Through multiple facilitated discussions, 45+ industry and government stakeholders identified a set of policy interventions required across areas such as taxation, land acquisition, charging infrastructure, and more to build a robust ZET ecosystem.
